But I think you'd have to have seriously dropped and broken your camera to do have affected the rollers. It's possible the rollers aren't working properly as they break the chemical pod that's in the white tab at the bottom of the image, and they spread the chems across the base as the picture is being ejected. Old film can be very unpredictable I just scored two packs of Spectra from 2006 but I've no idea how it had been stored.Īnyway, the bottom line is, no chems means no image. I've had shots with three good pictures, four brown ones and the rest being jammed. There's a lot of white stuff in the chemicals so with very old film the images are often very white. it still spread the chemicals across the base, yielded an image. The most out of date Pola film I ever had which still worked, i.e.

The brown colour in your pictures looks like the base of the film to me, and if that is the case it means the chemicals have not spread across the base. The date is usually embossed or stamped on the cardboard box, so if you kept that you might see it. When I press it the button it automatically goes off rather than the 12 second delay.

I had the same problem and was told maybe it was the shutter not working properly? Maybe I should try and get another camera? Everything works fine for the most part, though the timer doesnt work most of the time. But I'm beginning to think it's the camera itself. It's spit out photos like this before, and I always thought it was the film being expired. Has your camera been working properly prior to this, or is this the first time you've used it?įor the expiration date, I have no idea. It doesn't look to me like this is the case, because if the emulsion was dried out and wasn't spreading you'd get a different colour. With expiration, the film should still work unless it's dried out. If it's recent, or not past yet, contact PP and see if they will exchange it. the developing paste has probably dried out and not being spread via the rollersĬheck the expiration date. it wouldn't be a problem with the camera. i have spectra film as old as 2003 and it still works fine. How expired is it? any film from polapremium shouldn't turn out like this for the price they charge i'm guessing its something wrong with your camera. Is this due to the effect of expiration? Or something wrong with my camera? Because I always thought that with expiration, it would just come out to that weird brown color. I recently bought some white film from the Polapremium website, and so far all my photos are turned out like so,
